2006 CHMM National Overview Course Wrap-up
Date: 04/02/2007
We are happy to report the production of another successful National Overview Course (NOC) for the greater Pittsburgh region. On November 1-4, the Three Rivers Chapter co-hosted, with Slippery Rock University, the National Overview Course. The NOC was held at the Regional Learning Alliance at Cranberry Woods.
The NOC was attended by 23 individuals. Regarding demographics, 6 were from consulting, 1 was from government, and the remainder work in the industrial sector. Of the 23 attendees, 11 were from out-of-town with the furthest being from Westport, CT.
In total, we had 15 speakers. Their names are shown below. Please take a minute to review the list, as I would like to take this time to thank each of them, as well as their respective employers, for contributing to our efforts to host a high quality, reasonably priced, CHMM overview course. Please consider contacting any one of these individuals if you are in need of services and/or support.
As in prior years, the Regional Learning Alliance (RLA) was an excellent venue for hosting the course. All in attendance seemed to agree that the facility is top-notch and that the food is excellent. If you need a meeting place, you might want to check out the RLA facility.
Special thanks go to Dr. James Kushner, Dean of Lifelong Learning at SRU. He picked-up our program from a predecessor at SRU and, despite having a reduced staff for most of the year, and having many competing demands for his time, he made the necessary arrangements so we could get the job done seamlessly. With the assistance of Dr. Kushner and the staff at the RLA, everything went smoothly. Thank you to Dr. Kushner and the RLA staff.
The exam was held on Saturday, November 04 and proctored by Dr. Kushner. 21 of those attending the NOC sat for the exam and two additional individuals who weren't in the class also took the test.
As promised in our course brochure, each of the attendees have been added to our chapter membership for 2007. I will do an email later today welcoming them as members in the Chapter. Please join me and welcoming them to our group.
