2005 CHMM National Overview Course Wrap-up
Date: 11/14/2005

We are happy to report that the NOC was a success. On November 9-12, the Three Rivers Chapter co-hosted, with Slippery Rock University, the National Overview Course. The NOC was held at the Regional Learning Alliance at Cranberry Woods.

The NOC was attended by 11 individuals. Regarding demographics, two were from consulting and the remainder were from the industrial sector. Of the 11 attendees, five were from out-of-town with the furthest being from Indiana.

In total, we had 15 speakers. Their names are shown below. Please take a minute to review the list, as I would like to take this time to thank each of them, as well as their respective employers, for contributing to our efforts to host a high quality, reasonably priced, CHMM overview course. Please consider contacting any one of these individuals if you are in need of services and/or support.

The Regional Learning Alliance (RLA) was an excellent venue for hosting the course. All in attendance seemed to agree that the facility is top-notch and that the food is excellent. If you need a meeting place, you might want to check out the RLA facility.

Special thanks go to Dr. Patrick Gerity, Director of Corporate Partnerships at SRU. He has taken a personal interest in our program over for the past couple of years. Despite having many competing demands for his time, he took time to meet with us several times during the planning stages for this year's event and throughout our 4 days at the RLA. With the assistance of Dr. Gerity and his staff at the RLA, everything went smoothly. Thank you to Dr. Gerity and the RLA staff.

The exam was held on Saturday, November 12 and proctored by Dr. Gerity. Nine of those 11 attending the NOC sat for the exam. Two additional individuals who weren't in the class also took the test.

As promised in our course brochure, each of the attendees have been added to our chapter membership for 2006. I will do an email later today welcoming them as members in the Chapter. Please welcome me and welcoming them to our group.
