The TRC-ACHMM is committed to helping the SW PA Household Hazardous Waste Task Force with their collection events in 2009. Please consider registering for the next upcoming event (09/19/09) and volunteer for the morning or afternoon shifts, or for both.
The Saturday, September 19th Allegheny County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection is a little over a week away and we're still in need of volunteers.
Benefits for CHMM's:
The TRC-ACHMM is pleased to announce that all CHMM volunteers for the event have been pre-authorized by the IHMM to receive 1 CMP per hour of active participation (i.e., 6 CMPs for full day shift and 3 hrs for a half day shift).
Benefits for all Volunteers:
A $10.00 Giant Eagle gift card
Volunteers can dispose of up to 5 gallons of HHW free of charge ($10 value).
The collection will be held at the Settler's Cabin Park Wave Pool parking lot, which is located off of Ridge Road. The collection is scheduled to run from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm. However, we'll actually be ready to unload vehicles right around 8:00 am. There will be a brief training session for all volunteers prior to the start of the event.
Volunteer tasks will include directing traffic, taking surveys, handing out educational materials, and checking trunks. VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT UNLOAD VEHICLES.
Food and beverages will be provided.
Water will be available throughout the day, but feel free to bring your own. Lunch is usually served around 11:15 am.
Restroom facilities will be available.
Task Force members and repeat volunteers, if possible please wear a HHW t-shirt from a prior event. A limited number of new t-shirts available for volunteers.
