Welcome to the TRC-ACHMM website!!
TRC-ACHMM has a dynamic, fun and ambitious year planned for 2008! General membership meetings in 2008 will include speakers on various pertinent topics of interest including stormwater, erosion and sedimentation control in May, the PA Environmental Covenants Act in September, and Demonstration of New EH&S Sampling and Testing Equipment – Use, Limitations, and Technology in November, and our annual Holiday Party/state-of-the-chapter address in January 2009. Our sports enthusiasts will love our sports-event-related networking events: hockey game happy hours (GO PENS!) in the spring, a Pirate game & tailgate in the summer (GO BUCS!), a Steelers tailgate in the fall (GO STILLERS!) and a group outing to a Pens game in the fall. And we will again be sponsoring the ACHMM National Overview Course and CHMM testing in November 2008 (volunteer instructors needed – contact Jerry DeRosa).
The TRC-ACHMM is pleased to provide for your use this dynamic, database-driven website. We trust that you will find this website to be full of interesting content that will support you in your work and professional development. Upgrades will be made in the summer of 2008 to make the site more user friendly, especially for chapter members. If you have any comments or suggestions for the site, please visit our "Website Feedback" link shown below or contact any board member.
If you are not a member of the Chapter, based on all these great happenings and website features located in the Members Only Area, why not? Networking is an essential part of professional and career development. Many of our events are not only useful for networking, but are also free to members and fun. By attending one event, volunteering to be a speaker or instructor, or being elected to the board of directors, your membership fee is paid. So please, join us!
If you are already a member, please get involved! Volunteer to chair an event, chair a subcommittee, or instruct at the overview course. Nominate yourself or other TRC-ACHMM member to our board of directors when the call for nominations goes out in October. Just let any board member know that you’re interested in becoming more involved in the chapter and we’ll get you started. The best way to make membership work to your advantage is to take full advantage of your membership!
Thank you for visiting – we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
Sincerely,
Peggy Carpenter, CHMM
2008 Chapter President, TRC-ACHMM
